Detailed Presentation

Africa is full of challenges… but above all of opportunities for those who know how to turn them into concrete solutions. African social entrepreneurship rests on a simple but powerful idea: solving a real problem while building a viable business model. Access to education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, employment… all of these needs can become levers for creating value. This course takes you straight to the African field to understand how to identify a meaningful problem, design a fitting solution and build a business that generates both impact and revenue. With a pragmatic approach, you will learn how to avoid “well-intentioned but unviable” projects and to build robust initiatives, rooted in local realities, that can last and grow.

Overview

What this course covers

African Social Entrepreneurship: Solving Local Challenges Through Business is an online UpSkills course in Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Startups in Africa, organised into 8 modules, 23 lessons and 4h 37m of content. Each sequence pairs theory with hands-on practice so that what you learn transfers directly to a real professional setting.

By the end of this programme you will be able to identify local problems with strong impact potential, turn a real need into a viable business opportunity, design a solution suited to African realities and build a sustainable business model for a social venture. These skills are built up gradually across the course, consolidating the fundamentals before moving on to more advanced material.

The learning path opens with “Introduction to the course” and closes with “Quiz”, taking in “Level 1 - Reprogramming the Entrepreneurial Mindset”, “Level 2 — Selecting a viable problem” and “Level 3 — Designing a Socially Accepted Solution” along the way. The sequence is designed so each module builds on the one before it.

This course is aimed at learners at intermediate level looking to build their skills in Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Startups in Africa. It suits both individual upskilling and a company-led development plan, and needs no special software or equipment to follow.

The programme is led by L'équipe d'experts Up Skills; you learn at your own pace, with no fixed schedule, from desktop, tablet or mobile; an UpSkills certificate is issued once you complete the course.
