It provides a methodological framework for steering the shift towards connected care structures, covering health data management, tool interoperability and change management with teams. The learning path also incorporates essential thinking on ethics, cybersecurity and bridging the digital divide, to ensure health systems are modernised in a lasting, secure and equitable way.

What this course covers

Digital Health: The Digital Transformation of Health Systems is an online UpSkills course in Health & Social Care, organised into 6 modules, 25 lessons and 6h 12m of content. Each sequence pairs theory with hands-on practice so that what you learn transfers directly to a real professional setting.

By the end of this programme you will be able to by the end of this course, participants will be able to: and understand the system: position an organisation along the transformation journey and identify the markers of success. These skills are built up gradually across the course, consolidating the fundamentals before moving on to more advanced material.

The learning path opens with “Section 1 – Understanding the healthcare system in the digital age” and closes with “Quiz”, taking in “Digital tools in healthcare and how they are used”, “Health data at the heart of the system” and “Steering and leading digital change” along the way. The sequence is designed so each module builds on the one before it.

This course is aimed at learners at intermediate level looking to build their skills in Health & Social Care. It suits both individual upskilling and a company-led development plan, and needs no special software or equipment to follow.

Map the ecosystem: identify the interests of the various stakeholders (public authorities, start-ups, funders, patients).

Master the technical tools: distinguish between and assess the relevance of EPRs (Electronic Patient Records), telemedicine and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).

Protect data: implement cybersecurity and data protection frameworks (GDPR, HDS health data hosting).

Drive change: build a realistic roadmap and support teams through it.

Anticipate the future: embed AI ethics and tackle the digital divide with a 2030 horizon.
